Jungle pants, flashlights, water bottles, passports,…. We leave for Peru in two days. The first stop will be a quick Thursday night stay in Lima in the lovely district of Barranco before flying early Friday morning across the Andes to the town of Puerto Maldonado in the Amazon region of Madre de Dios. We’ll start Peru blogging from Posada Amazonas, an ecolodge jointly owned by Rainforest Expeditions and the indigenous Ese’eja community of Infierno (see the Guardian article by Kurt Holle, president of Rainforest Expeditions, with whom we’ll meet back in Lima). More soon!
